Brewed in collaboration with Ebb Tides, award winning sustainable harvesters of edible sea weeds, this is a malty Best Bitter enhanced with gentle umami flavours of Sugar Kelp and Shitake Mushrooms. A hark back to the days before hops became predominant when roots, herbs, fruits and vegetables were added to beer to balance sweetness and provide nutrients.

440ml can from Ladram Bay Holiday Park. My 100th Gloucestershire rate. Semi-hazed to murky amber with off white head. A very rustic dense tasting malty bitter with brown bread, cocoa, earth, sugar. Light to mid-bodied, drying. Has flavour but to earthy for me to really like it.

21/X/23 - 44cl can @ Maria’s paella cookout (home), BB: 19/V/24 (2023-851) Thanks to Sebletitje for sharing the can!
Clear orange beer, big creamy fof-white head, irregular, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: very malty, grains, hay, cow fodder, sourish impression, toast, more malty. MF: soft carbon, medium to light body. Taste: a bit sweet, very malty, grains, hay, pretty bitter, grassy, dry, a bit metallic, little fruity. Aftertaste: some banana peel, bitter, metallic, a little oxidized, grains, a bit sourish, more metallic, very bitter finish, hay, cow fodder, meh.

44cl can partagée avec Tim, BB 16/05/2024, achetée à Londres.
