The Bokrijks is a blonde and strong local beer of high fermentation of Brouwerij Sterkens. This blonde, with a nice white head, has a strong fruity aroma and a subtle, mild malty flavor. This refreshing beer has a slightly bitter aftertaste and is brewed with unique ingredients to create the best possible balance between bitter and sweet.

Bottle thanks oh6gdx: Poured a hazy yellow with floaties and a white head. Aroma is sweet fruit and citrus. The taste is quite acidic and some maltiness remains.

Pours hazy gold into a tulip. White head quickly subsides to skim rim. Sweet malt and citrus aromas. Crisp coriander with a lasting mild hop finish that turns slightly cloying as the beer warms.

Aroma of stone fruit and more. Very hazy brassy gold color. Very vigorous white head. Some lacing. Starts with multiple fruits (stone, citrus, apple, papaya?). Medium bodied, creamy, mild carbonation. There are lots of odd bits, like spice and floral? hop. Clove, I think. The finish is reasonably dry, and mildly bitter. Soothing. An example of how ale yeasts provide more intriguing aromas and flavors than bottom dwellers.

Bottle. Amber beer with no head. Light yeast/fruit aromas. Fruity, sweet malt flavor with a bit of spice. LIghter, but not bad. Easy to drink. Refreshing.

75 cl bottle - The presentation is nice in the ceramic bottle. It pours up a rich golden color with a thick, lingering head and excellent lacing. The aroma is sweet with mild hop notes. The flavor is very sweet (candi sugar?) with mild fruit notes. The body is medium and has a somewhat bubbly body. The finish has some mild hops. Overall while not complex, I found it to be very drinkable and enjoyable. Iβm surprised it doesnβt rank a little higher.

(Ceramic bottle 75 cl) This original version from Brouwerij Sterkens in Meer. Dark amber with an impressive, frothy, white head. Notes of roasted malt and caramel, but dominated by a wonderfully spiciness and an almost piquante aftertaste. Some smokiness like in tobacco or whisky malt. 100299

Rather stable dirty-yellowish head; (cold) hazy peach coloured beer. Chalk, cocos, marked caramel, buttertoffee, malty aromaβs. Heavy burnt-bitterish taste, scorched caramel, sweeter malt and honey caramels underneath. Again faint buttery flavourimpression - if itβs diacetyl, itβs below my ID treshold. Faint citrussy, very slight sourish finish. Rather slick, nearly fatty, some burning sensation in the MF. Feels more carbonised than it looks. Bit strange blonde, very mixed flavours & impressions. Not overly remarkable.

A hazy orange beer with a fine white disappearing head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet and slightly spicy and yeasty before a rather dry hoppy end sets in.
