Bottle 229/400, enormous thanks Ivan for sharing this with Elena and me! Well, now that's an unexpected tick, a 15.5% Belarussian smoked whiskey RIS in 2023. Well, this one has some age on it, from 2020 I guess. Brownish black body, off-white head - tiny. Enormous, sweet, pulsating peaty aroma, earthy touches, potato... I guess that came out front as it aged. Huge chocolate in the taste, but not without ginormous peat all over the place, ending with a solid dash of alcohol. Not in its prime perhaps, but definitely impressive! If I was a peathead, this would be over 4 despite that.

Appearance: cloudy brown with ruby highlights. Moderate beige head of decent retention. Aroma: caramel, candied citrus fruit, smoke, ash, oak, subdued peat. Taste: light sweet, complex, harmonious blend of malt, hop and barrel. All over mentioned nuances present here as well. Solid end lingering ending bitterness. Mouth feel: medium to full body, soft to average carbonation. Overall: excellent.

Bottle 375 ml #002/400. Elegant wine with reddish-bronze colour + garnet tint, thin and yellowish foam. Aroma: very smoked, smoked whisky, burnt peat, a little burnt insulation, ash, a little iodine, tobacco, sweet, candied fruits. Taste: smoked whisky with bandages, iodine, Eyjafjallajökull ashes, caramel, candied fruit, confiture, pleasant hop bitterness. Quite harmonious. The power of peat and malt!
