Dark sweet malty, notes of caramel and some chocolate, sweet vanilla accents, dried dark fruit shred, full body, sweet malty and spiced lingering finish. Draft. A very dark brown beer with a thin brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, caramel, and dried fruit. The flavor is sweet with notes of candy sugar, cinnamon, dried fruits, and a bit of roasted malt, leading to a dry finish.

On keg at I m G Lothian Road. Appearance - opaque black with a thin crema head. Nose - interesting combo of chocolate molasses, dried fruit and a tarty edge. Taste - dried fruit, chocolate and liquorice sweet and dry. Palate - full bodied, sweet, tangy and dry. Overall - wonderful beer.

440ml can. Pours very dark brown with a small head. Aroma is woody treacle cake, raisin, brown sugar, chocolate and alcohol. Taste has treacle and cake and raisin to start with a woody brown sugar finish. Dark yeasty aftertaste.

Black beer, thin head. Smells sweet and fruity. Flavour has caramel, malt, dried fruit, wood and booziness from the barrel, a little chocolate. Rich and smooth and far too drinkable for 11%.
