Can at home in Hackney - picked up from Cork & Cask. Label just calls it ‘71 LGR’ or ‘71 Lager’ as part of the 71 Lager Series. Pours rich honey gold with a frothy, white head. Quite a nice bready lager, moderate sweetness, fresh bread, nips of honey and caramel, faint bitter hay. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Further rich bready malts to finish, sun-kissed honey, biscuits. Solid.

Re-rate on 14/01/2021 from 44cl can this time, again thanks to the brewery - much better balance with added bitterness this time! Previous rating 2016. Sample thanks to the brewery. Appearance - golden with a decent head. Nose - sweetcorn and pale malt. Taste - more pale malt and some caramel. Palate - light bodied with a creamy texture. The finish could be fresher. Overall - solid but could be cleaner on the end.

Keg at Casc. It pours clear gold with a medium white head. The aroma is freshly baked bread, cereal, bran flakes, mild sweetness and hint of dried fruit. The taste is crisp, clean, bitter, straw, cereal, grass, floral and light peppery spice with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Clean and rather drinkable. Promising start for these guys.
