Rauch – from the speciality German Rauchmalt we use to make this smooth, dark brew deliciously smoky.

Lightly hopped using Phoenix hops from the UK. Rich chocolate and coffee flavours which are wrapped in a mouth filling smokiness provided by the German Rauch malt. Dark as night, with a smooth aftertaste.

Black with lasting head. It's a full on malty beer. Slight roasted bitterness. Nice smokiness.

Bottle from Westhill Service Station. It pours darkest brown to black with frothy beige head. The aroma is hard roasted malt, ashy, charred, smokey, umami, burnt toast, cacao nibs and liquorice. The taste is dry, dark roasted malt, burnt toast, toothy, liquorice, umami, peppery spice, smokey, cacao nibs, earth, weak coffee, tobacco, twiggy vibes and some cardboard with a drying, umami finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. A toothy smokey number. A bit toothy, but not bad.
