Pours a red tinged amber with thin off-white head. Malty aroma with chocolate, berries, touch of fruit cake. Taste of caramel, cocoa, mixed fruit, light tang, moderate bitter hop. Fairly tasty. Decent for the price.

Can from Home Bargains (the Crewe branch I think) – drank at home. Pours a dark copper with a large, frothy but transient slightly yellowish head. Malts to the fore in the aroma alongside treacle, toffee and hints of citrus. More malts and caramel are the initial sensations in the mouth, quickly followed by oats and then some tangerine fruitiness. Some bitterness comes out in the finish though. An unusual, enjoyable beer that is difficult to categorise.

440ml can. Poured a clear reddish amber colour with a big, lasting, frothy off-white head. The aroma is toffee caramel malt, light citrus. The flavour is moderate to light bitter and sweet, with a crisp, earthy, herbal, mineral, light orange citrus palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Nice can but the beer didn’t really match.

Can from Home Bargains, Stafford. Chestnut coloured with a large beige head and a light to middling fizz. Flavour is malt and toffee with just a vague hint of orange. Slightly dusty and very, very dull. Meh.

8/4/2023. Can shared at SBGP2. From Home Bargains, Martlesham Heath. Pours almost clear bright amber-red with a small frothy off-white head. Aroma is malty, caramel, dried fruits, berries and cherries, biscuit, bread, light spice. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness and body. Slightly watery, average carbonation. A bit weak and muddled, and tasted like it was cheap (which it was).

Light brown with stable head. Some base notes of malt and a hint red fruit sugars. Juicy grapefruit comes through too. Ok.

440ml can from Home Bargains. Deep copper in colour, with a slight, off-white, head. Aroma had a yeasty, marmite-like character with some caramel and red berries. Prickly mouth feel, with some dusty, earthy, malts, tart fruits and a touch of toastiness, before a moderately bitter finish. Unusual, and not bad at all.

[44cl can from Home Bargains, Bracknell.] An attractive reddish copper pour with a fast fading white head; aroma of fruity malts; rather thin in the mouth, but full of red fruit flavours to start, then some sweet chocolate syrup before a woody bitterness with a touch of resin. Very drinkable.
