YG 220422. Black color with no head. Aroma is alcohol, coco, roasted malt, chocolate, coffee. Flavor alcohol, cocoa, roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, molasses, vanilla, dried fruits, whiskey. Very nice beer.

Bottle. An oily, black beer with close to no head. Some tan bubbles on top. There's a faint chemical hint on the nose, but it's not disturbing at all. Dark chocolate, some coffee, whisky-ish booze, oak, spices, meaty hints, some dark dried fruits. Dark sugar in the back. It's full-bodied, sweet and lightly warming, with some tannins. Dark chocolate, roasted malts, coffee hints, dark dried fruits, tannins, booze and tannins in the flavor. Burnt hints. Everlasting finish. A really complex one, hides the alcohol very well, and tastes very well. Delicious indeed, really love the barrel aged beers from Nøgne. 220422

Aus der Flasche (bottled 04.02.2022/bbe 14.14.2031) im 2022-04 getrunken. Dieses Stout mit dunkelbrauner Schaumbildung, die ganz schnell wieder verschwindet, ist sowohl in der Nase und am Gaumen eine Schoko-Bpmbe. Dazu kommen Aromen von süßen Karamell-Bonbons, etwas grüner Parika und etwas Liebstöckel. Die hohe Alkoholgehalt ist perfekt eingebunden und sorgt für ein dichtes Aroma mit langen Abgang.

330 ml bottle #1642 out of 6000, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken, at a steep price. ABV is 15%, IBU 80. Slowly gushing bottle. Pitch black colour, no head. Boozy aroma of molasses, fusel alcohols, roast malts and cocoa / chocolate. Very moderate carbonation the mouth, but the mouthfeel is otherwise very rich and warming. The flavour is also very rich, with a substantial sweetness and loads of cocoa, also distinct notes of oak, whiskey and vanilla, and dark malts. The sweetness is to some degree balanced by decent hops throughout. A pity about the gushing bottle and subsequent lack of carbonation. If you don't find the price too prohibitive, I'd recommend cellaring this beer for 2-5 years.
