Can from Aldi, Coleshill. Clear gold, small white head. Light tropical pith, peel, grass on the nose. Its very bitter and grassy with hints of grapefruit and other tropical notes. There are hints towards astringency but the mouthfeel is ok with some over-dryness but nice soft to frothy carbonation and lightness towards the end. Below average for the style but at £1.69 is it worth it? Not quite in my view.

Can at home picked up from supermarche. A mostly clear mid gold coloured pour with a sticky loose white head. Aroma is subdued, orange rind, midget gems, soft stale bread, melon balls. Flavour is composed of raw grains, stale bread, orange sweets, melon, bitter pith, chalky. Lingering pithy bitterness. Palate is raw grains, fine carbonation. Bitter finish. Bit rough round the edges.

440ml can presumably from Aldi. Poured a slightly hazy yellow golden colour with a short-lived, fizzy white head. The aroma is malt, light toffee, light citrus. The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet, with a light, crisp, toffee malt, light herbal, woody hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation.

Clear yellow colour with lasting thin head. Smells and tastes rather stale like cardboard. It's got a bitter finish but is not fresh tasting and not at all tropical as described.

Can from Aldi Supermarket, Todmorden. Golden with a small head. Certainly understated as far as its name is concerned. There's some citrus evident but it fails to produce much fruitiness, as such its piney, a tad malty and not too flavoursome with its hops, making this brew feel a bit more like a golden ale rather than a pale ale.

Can from Aldi, Kidbrooke. Orange pour with a white head. Nose is sweet citrus, peach, tropical fruit. Taste is zesty orange, tropical fruit, touch of pineapple, some grapefruit coming through. Quite a bittersweet number. Does the job.

[44cl can from Aldi, Bracknell.] A straw coloured pour with gentle carbonation and a billowing white head; tropical fruit aroma; rather soapy in the mouth with some bitter citrus and pineapple and a chewy malt body; then grapefruit and malt to finish. Not bad.
