This iteration of Zenne y Frontera is a blend of an Oloroso barrel matured lambik and some younger lambik, with the aim of triggering a continued bottle fermentation and condition it further to a geuze. We used five different lambikken, of which two matured on the same Oloroso barrel. These lambikken, 75% of the blend were two year old when they were put on the freshly emptied sherry barrel and matured for more than a year before being blended. This way the weighted average age of this blend, upon bottling, was more than 31 months. The Oloroso barrel comes from the last bodega of Josefa Perez Rosado, near the Church of Santiago in Jerez De La Frontera.

Pours a darker, clear blonde. Small white head. Scent is full, mature oak , wet oak, nutty (Oloroso medium recognizable) Taste is smooth, intense and much more outspoken oloroso. nutty, medium oak. Not overpowering , but present. Medium acidity, well blended in balance - I would prefer the sherry to be more outspoken, but this seems more balanced for a bigger crowd. Medium low carbonation. Smooth is the word here.

Lovely expression with the sherry barrels coming in clearly along with some stone fruit and clean tart lambic funk. LCI

Sour and tart, dry, woody. Rustic with a bit of barnyard funk, smooth. Very nice.

Vinous, funky and tart with some soft sourness, farmyard, hints of vinous sherry, oak and wood. A bit flat, but still quite complex and tasty
