Light amber color, the head fades quickly. Sweet apple aroma, rather grainy. Grainy, very fruity (blackcurrant, pear and apple)with chewing gun and some bitterness. Rather alcoholic, grainy and sticky aftertaste.

Bottle. Golden color with white foam. Aroma and taste: malty, alcohol, a little bitter. Sad.

(Bottle, 0.5 l - BBE 17.07.2012, 20120604) The beer poured golden and clear. Its head was small, fizzy and white. Aroma had alcohol, metallicness, sweetness and berries. Palate was medium bodied and a bit warming with quite high carbonation. Flavours were metallicness, sweetness, alcohol, mildly grain, malts and lowish bitterness. Aftertaste was mostly boozy. Bad and unbalanced.

Bottle from Tops in Tempe, AZ. Dark amber color with a coarse beige head. Aroma of light roasted caramel. Medium body with light carbonation. Flavor is caramel with light hop - but not really bitter. Extremely pleasant. Resembles a Belgian ale more than an Eastern lager. Tasty.

Golden colour, ok head. Aroma is cooked vegetables and alcohol. Flavour is alcohol and not much more...but in a somewhat balanced way.

Bottle purchased at Sam’s Wines, Downers Grove. "Lot-121" on bottle. Hey, an import bottle of the beer Russians get when they can’t afford Baltika! Well, I had to other Stepans when in Russia, and I bet this passenger is little worse. Top the pop and there’s a big whiff of heavy corn syrup. Pour it and the smell is joined by beet sugar and crushed bugs. Deep gold color that even so seems a little off, under a pillowy head. Taste is… unngh. More low-grade corn syrup. I suppose in some Bizarro planet this is in the same categary as Sam Adams Impy Pilsener, but it completely lacks the subtle balance one expects in any beer. A brick to the head has more malt and hops balance than this doggy treat. I know this is an undated import, but my previous Stepan Razins were from before Heineken bought the brewery, and you’d think there’d be some more quality control in place.

Bottled. Deep golden. Sugary fruity nose. Very sweet, somewhat malty with sugary yeast finish. Typical super cheap get drunk fast beer.
