LCRBM2: light coffee and stronger blackcurrant aroma. Fruity sweet flavor, woody and alcoholic. Cherry. Porto. Sticky mouthfeel. Quite likeable.

Bottle at LCRBM 2006. Very dark brown with no head. Not a huge aroma, but then nice juicy/grainy malt. Another good beer from E&S

(Bottle 33 cl) Pours black and opaque with a small, off-white head. Aroma of both malts, fruits and alcohol. Very full-bodied with burned, malty accents. Notes of dried fruits - raisins in particular. Malty bitter finish. 240706

An unclear dark brown beer with a disappearing brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with lots of fruit acompaniet by alcohol. The flavor is sweet malty againg with strong fruit notes, combined with lighter notes of roasted almost burnt malt, as well as hints of wood. The body is thick.

Almost no head, yellowish rim over pitch black beer. Very vinous nose, with dark but sweet chocolate; slightly acidic, both lactic and stout-like acidity. Bit of carbondust and fruity at the same time (dark fruit as brambles). Dry, quite bitter taste, a bit hoppy and some more roasted/burnt flavours; impression of figs, ripe plums and ditto pears, etc. Roasted barley and bitter chocolate retronasal. Grist slickness an a serious oiliness, like a film and threads of crude streaming up and through a clear mountainstream. Impressive beer, a true Imperial Stout even with its modest ABV.

Bottled. Very black. Aroma of tart frozen raspberries. Salty and vinegary. Full bodied with rounded mouthfeel. Some tart sordough and licorice - ending up tasting like lemon-licorice candy. Very unusual.
