LCRBM2: Anis and a bunch of other herbs in the aroma. Red berries and anis in the flavor. Slightly sugary. tasty, but lacks balance.

Cask gravity at Pig’s Ear 2015. It pours clear deep red with pretty much no head. The nose is soft, sweet, juicy, faruit cake, varnish, cola ice lolly, spice and tangy dried fruits. The taste is slick, rich, bitter-sweet, spicy, dark fruits, fruit cake, cola ice lolly, and some alcohol warmth with a slick finish. Very reminiscent of Rum & Coke in my opinion! Medium body, low carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Weird, but overall not bad.

Cask at Pigs Ear 2015, day 1 - London. Pours clear golden-red with a light, foamy head. The nose has faint plastic, berries, bread. Medium sweet flavor, very spicy, with sugary wheat and light butter. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with sugary wheat and berries. So so.

Gravity at Pigs Ear ’15, 01/12/15. Rich amber orange with little in the way of a head. Nose is caramel, floral notes, light spice, bitter fruit. Taste comprises herbal notes, peppercorns, tangy fruit, aniseed. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close. Average stuff ... delivers little on the ABV offered.

750 ml bottle courtesy of dazz3. Pours very hazy amber with a frothy offwhite head that leaves a small sticky trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is sweet, fruity and perfume like with sweet dark bread, orange peal, grapefruit juice, mango, resinous wood, marzipan, cherries in brandy, lemon juice, dark grapes, grass and hints of pine. Taste is sweet and slightly malty with sweet dark bread, cherries, grapefruit juice, resinous wood, red apples, marzipan, red wine and grass. Mouthfeel is slightly crisp, slightly tart and light to medium bodied. Finish is slightly sour and tart with biscuits, dark grapes, wood, sour cherries, crackers and grass. Quite tart which I think adds depth to this beer.

Pours dark amber with a small, fading head.Noes shows sweet caramel, over-ripe bananas, faint unidentifiable spices, may some garlic. Some sweet malt transfers through as a flavour, whilst the spices remain in the background, although they are a little more pronounced than in the aroma. some alcohol shows through, along with a metallic note.Carbonation is a bit excessive.

Bottle, 75cl, at RBNAG-11. It pours and unclear, amber body and a small, off-white head. There’s a light touch of berries on the nose, with pale malts, a faint caramel touch, something herbal and peppery, and a little bit of wood. It’s fruity and malty on the palate, warming, full-bodied and pleasantly carbonated. Berry notes, pepper and resiny hops in the flavor. Some resiny hoppy bitterness towards the end. A nice and unusual beer. 111015
