Draught at Boston Taproom, 10/4/21. Glassy, brass-bronze. Very small white head, low retention. Soft coffee and very light Belgian esters in the nose, surprisingly don't seem at odds with one another. A soft helping of sweet, honey-like malt helps and there's nothing annoying going on like clove/bubble gum/banana. Soft and coffee-forward, yet with a light white pepper and very fruity back end. Soft, malty body with good attenuation. Gets a bit spicy on the end, but never bitter/astringent, which is impressive. Pretty easy drinking pale ale, all told, with lovely notes of deep, well-woven-in coffee.
