A rare beer from Akevitt. Moderate sweet malt and some spice. Clearly a lager, but I wasn’t sure it was a Vienna. Dry finish, but there is some sweetness in the flavor. Not bad for cheap beer from a can.

The motto "xmas lasts till Easter" came to my mind when I picked up the 330ml bottle at Fenaknoken in Oslo (BB:14.07.07). Mahogany coloured body, off-white head and hints of laceworks. Aroma has got some roasted notes. Vague, dark malty flavour added a light touch of caramel sweetness. Rather thin mouthfeel. Didn’t make me think of Yuletide (17.03.2007).

(Bottle 33 cl) Pours a handsome, clear, orangey brown with an off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt. Light body dominated by the roasted malt accents. Short, dry finish. Simply too light for a christmas beer. 151206

(33 cl bottle thanks to KnutAlbert) Unpleasant skunk like scent. Clear red brown color, tan head. Grainy taste. Low bitterness. Spritzy and thin mouthfeel. Not good.

Bottle. 4.7 abv. Creamy off-white excellent mostly lasting head. Brown colour. Almost no aroma. Very soapy ugly flavor. Alas average finish. Watery palate. Really a bad beer.

Bottle. Faintly dusty aroma. Clear, dark brown colour, no head. OK maltiness in flavour, a little coffee and a hint of cardboard. Thin mouthfeel. The flavour is OK, but the mouthfeel is disappointing.

Medium, creamy, tan head with a spattering of larger bubbles; clear, dark winy red body. Sweet aroma of syrup, cinnamon, and some roast malts. Aroma is quite thick and satisfying. Roasty taste, with a dry finish, which lingers in the mouth, together with the roastiness. On further acquaintance, a bit watery. A good Christmas beer; could use a bit more sharpness, but a good effort. Certainly better than expected. (0.33l bottle.)
