I don’t need a corkscrew for this beer, the cork comes out by itself! Light ornage brown color, hazy because of the tiniest particles of yeast. Hops, apple, coreander and caramel in the aroma. Hoppy, herbal flavor with caramel, coreander and hints of ginger. Herbal bitter aftertaste. With more restraint in the use of herbs, this would be a great beer.

750 mL bottle courtesy of Captain Cougar. Pours a slightly hazed copper color with a medium head. Good retention and decent lacing. Aroma of brown sugar, caramel, grain and an herbal finish. Taste is brown sugar, caramel, toastiness and light smoke. Subtle herbal note. Full bodied.

A very special treat courtesy Beerlando! Deep amber color. Crazy aroma! Candied orange peel, burnt caramel, minty herbalness all in the nose. Flavor has notes of licorice and mint. There’s a brightness to the herbality, almost a spearminty wintergreen aspect. Light semi-dry finish. Deeply herbal. Very unusual, fun, unique in the Fantome way.

750ml from the Bstill-ery vaults, thanks Brian. Bottled in 2004, sampled in 2008. Murky orange-brown color. Very interesting subtle tastes going on behind the smooth malty body. Mild yeast character helps smooth the beer out. There is an earthy, almost vegetable flavor in there it seems. The aroma has deteriorated significantly, perhaps the taste has suffered as well. Nonetheless remains quite enjoyable and drinkable.

750mL shared by notalush, thank you. The beer pours a mud thick brown with a small head. aroma is signature Fantôme with that spicy and lightly funky thang. Spicy, funky, and woody. Taste is much more plain with a malt driven, thicker Saison. Above average carbonation, as usual for Fantôme .

Bottle from elmatador00 - cloudy pinkish beer, with huge carbonation - funky, cheesy aroma, with a nearly bacterial quality, light fruitiness, and lots of earthy cobweb and mustiness - cheesy and fruity in equal measure, reminding me of eating apples and blue cheese - quite leathery and earthy, with a wee hint of smoke - not really sour, but quite funky - a bit past its prime, but I loved it anyway.

Bottle - sampled at the LCBM 2005
Peachy and tropical aroma. Cloudy orange, big rocky off-white head. The fruits from the aroma plus yeasty notes in the flavor. Relatively lightbodied.
