355ml can. Pours an opaque black with a small, creamy, short lived, tan head that leaves spotty lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, molasses, earth, coffee and light smoke. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, licorice, burnt caramel, ash and light smoke in a dry, bitter coffee finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. A little thin for the style, but still enjoyable.

Can from the LCBO. Black pour, with a medium brown head. Aroma is sweet roast, light fruit, light coffee, and some charred sugars. Mouth feel is watery, and thin, carb is very very soft. Finish is light to medium bitter, watery, thin, roast fades to a twinge, with not much else. this was disappointing.

Pours a real dark brown colour, almost black with very little copper highlights. The head is warm beige, very big, quite long lasting with wavy lacing. Some nice chocolate notes with the roasted malts coming out with time. This is also the base in the flavours with a slight warming. Cocoa and coffee with hints of liquorice. Nothing too fancy, but very well-brewed to be an easy-drinking stronger stout.
