5,4% on the label. I remember a visit to this brewery in 1991, just after "die Wende". A city brewery in an old street packed with Wartburgs and Trabi’s (I did ride a Trabi once, a very special experience!). During my visit I tasted the pils in the brewery cantine. It was very refrehing, not surprisingly becuase it was almost 100 Degr. F. in the shadow. Now this Schwarzbier from this old brewery is also worth a try. Very caramelly, slightly roasty aroma and ditto flavor. Very malty, sweetish with lots of apple and some chocolate. A bit thin. Thanks Dortmunder for making this trip into history possible! You’ve done an "alte Hase" a big pleasure.

Clear red brown with a beige head. Aroma is sweet caramel and light roasted malt. Flavor is moderate sweet. There is not enough roasted malt and maybe because of this it isn’t dry enough and too sweet. 040111
