A few generous kg of wild rice gives Tanuki a subtle florality that sits as a top note on darker, toastier malt flavours. It's an even-handed dose of complexity in a dry, crushable beer. Like it's namesake, Tanuki might be little - clocking in at a light 4.3% - but it has a few surprises in store for you.

473ml can. Pours a clear dark brown, almost black with red hue and a medium, creamy, long lasting, beige head that leaves curtains of lace. Aroma of roasted malt, earth, nuts and dark chocolate. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, licorice, caramel, ash, earth and cocoa in a dry, mild bitter coffee finish. Light to medium body with an oily to watery texture and average carbonation. Tasty and easy to drink.

Medium brown, very toasty, very light but has really nice malt complexity to it. Interesting take - aiming for the Asahi/Sapporo Blacks?

473mL can, pours a deep dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma brings out medium roast, with lots of toasted nuts and some earthiness. Flavour is dry, with earthiness, toasted nuts and bready malt. Dry and clean, pleasant, but nothing special.

Poured from 473mL can @ Weathered 2023. Dark chestnut brown with small light beige head. Toasted nutty malt, simple, quite nice.
