Borefts 2023 Good & Evil Release.
Good and Evil. This beer is both. Chipotle, ancho and guajillo chilis were soaked in tequila and added to an imperial gose base, kettle soured and fermented with Ebbegarden kveik from Kveik Yeastery. To this we added grapefruit and hibiscus. The result is almost a paloma, but mostly an exciting sour beer with savory and sweet notes.

Tap. Unclear deep golden color with white head. Aroma is hibiscus, wheat, fruity. Taste is rose/hibiscus juice, tequila barrel, chipotle spice. Silky mouthfeel, sparkly carbonation. Weird one, but kinda works!

Op tap bij Borefts '23. Amber kleur. Hele vreemde eend dit. Kwam over als een moutig en fruitig bockbier zoals Salvator, met een lichte peper achter in de keel. Weinig zout of zuur. Wel smaakvol.

At Borefts, hazy muddy orange, blend of chipotle peppers and lime, sour green apple, piercing fruity lemony tartness. Amazing combination, Wow!

A little cloudy orange blond beer, creamy white head, pretty stable, non adhesive. Aroma: sourish impression from the start, fruity, lots of tangerines, oranges, pretty funky, lactobacillus, smells like a gose? (tasted this “blind”, as in, I had no idea what each beer was supposed to be, looks like I guessed it right by just smelling ;-) MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: lots and lots of oranges, orange peel, tangerines, quite some chillies as well? Aftertaste: quite some chilli burn all right, fruity, oranges.

Fun stuff this! Lots going on. Nicely light sour, lots of wheat, surprisingly soft considering everything. Chipotle flavour, only light heat. Tequila is there, which is a fun combination that works quite well. Fun and tasty beverage
