Bottle, bought at the brewery. Blonde, hazy, frothy head. Aroma of fresh hops with a hint of lychee. Hoppy flavor with hints of boiled milk, vanilla and wood. Very tasty, fairly clean. Hopbitter vanilla aftertaste. Lovely!

Vom Faß beim Zenglein in Oberschleichach. Etwas ruppig bitterer Abgang. - Unterdurchschnittliches Frankenlager, zu dünn und lieblos gehopft. Enttäuschend.

Hopfiger, stark karbonisierter Antrunk. Bitterer Abgang.

Bottled (BB 12/2009)
Hazy yellow color, huge cloudy white head, lace. Orange-citrus, a bit sweet, yeasty nose. Lot of farmhouse in the flavor: fruityness, leather, citrusy hops. Very barnyardish and farmhouse-stylish.

Bottle, 5.0% bought at the brewpub. Cloudy orange colour. Big stable rocky off-white head. The flavour is mildly bitter with some rough, but good bread notes. Has a little smoke, like their pils, but pleasant.

Draught at the brewpub. Cloudy yellow, rich head. Perfumy nose with grass underneath. Very soft with generously amounts of malt covered in thick layers of grassy, resiny hops and some minerals. Massive late bitterness. Realy good. I assume this is just an unfiltered version of the pils, but flavourwise it makes all the difference in the world.

(bottle, bought at the brewery) Hazy, yellow colour with a big foamy white head. Yeasty and herbal hoppy nose with a tinge of citrus and sweet grainy malt in the background. Bitter-sweet flavour; light to medium bodied with an almost crispy carbonation. Soft malty base with herbal hops and yeasty bitterness; dry bitter and hoppy finish with a light but balancing malty sweetness. Clean and rounded Zwickel.

At the brewpub: Pale golden, hazy, slowly collapsing fluffy head; delicate yeasty, distinctive hoppy nose; solid bitter-sweetish flavour, light- to medium-bodied; lingering bitter-sweet finish with a faint fruitiness. Good........
