We came out swinging with this one. Face Chop is our year-round all Citra Double IPA. On the nose, you get a bright heavy-handed whiff of tropical citrus, followed with a follow-up shot of pineapple and papaya on the taste. With an ABV of 8.2%, this beer packs the punch of the heavyweight, but moves around on the palate light and delicately like a flyweight.

Can from BrewDog. It pours cloudy tropical golden with a thick, fluffy white head. The aroma is fresh, sweet, juicy, touch green and piney, but then it's all about tropical fruits, pineapple, Pina colada, mango, peach, ice cream float, and gummy bears. The taste is initially dry, green, weedy, dank, then it's sweeter, slick, creamy, mango smoothie, quite thick, pulpy, splash of lemonade, pithy, drying, pineapple chunks, touch of orange creamsicle, floury bread, sponge and a touch of alcohol with actually quite a green, slightly raw finish. Medium body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Maybe a touch sweet, but I like he greenness.

Decent but the booze overtakes this one a little like angry grandpas in the senior home. Hazy orange pour with ok head. Some pine. Bitter finish. Tap at brewpub.
