220ml taster, draught. Dark mahogany body. Missing head. Vague aroma of spiced fruits. Juniper mixed with candy sugar coming through, followed by a taste of lemony bitterness. Quite well balanced in flavour. Medium palate (Lord Nelson, Copenhagen 11.09.2008).

aroma: raisins, alc. sugar, quite stingy. dark brown, thick light brown head, flavor is VERY spicy, under that i get what reminds me of a belgian dubbel (yea’ i make weird associations). spices dominate, below i get dark fruits.. This one is tasty, but FAR from as delicious and balanced as the better belgian brews, which also sometimes has some spices etc.

(Draught at Lord Nelson, Copenhagen, 25 July 2008) Deep amber colour with frothy, beige head. Malty nose with dried fruit and spicy hints of what I’d guess to be sweet gale. Malty taste with notes of dark fruit, prunes, spices (sweet gale?), black-currant, cola and a fresh, bittersweet finish. not very bitter, rather sweet, but actually quite ok.

Medium yellowish head over deep-amber beer. Ouch. Lavender, juniper, dogrosehips, enormously perfumed. Very spicy taste, lavender and juniper, aniseed as well, but some good dark malts make the taste at least better balanced than the nose. Medium bodied, sharp MF from the spices. Still, generally speaking not balanced enough.

50 cL bottle, at Den årlige ølsmagning i Valhal. Pours golden brown/deep orange with almost no head. Spiced and mild caramel malt aroma. Flavour holds a nice spice note, quite well balanced. Smooth maltbase with a nice caramel malt sweetness. Ends with a lingering spice note.
