Inspired by the coal fired kettles of regional Franconia, Burgenstraße "Castle Road" is brewed with 100% vienna malt and hallertau hops. It's brewed using the traditional franconia style decoction, gleaned from an 1865 translation. We love this beer and think you will too.

16 ounce can from 5th Street brewery. Slightly hazed, honey gold pour. Large rocky white head is enduring. Yeasty malt aroma has bready, earthy notes. Flavor upfront is bready malt with notes of honey and nuttiness. Herbal, woodsy hop notes balance nicely with theVienna malts to produce a classic, refreshing Zwickelbier.

6th Floor bottleshare. Thanks to the USA ticking crew for this can. Almost clear gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Smooth and semi dry palate, reasonable fine carbonation. Bready dry malts, a little creamy sweetness. Mild piney hops. Some ripe fruits. Semi dry finish. Not bad but won't last long in the memory.

Can from The Haus: pours deep gold with slight haziness and bug head. Aroma is biscuity, herbal, noticeable hoppiness. Moderate bitterness, biscuity sweetness and herby feel. Lingering but mellow bitterness in the aftertaste. I was hoping it would be a bit better, but it was still quite a pleasant beer.
