Don't tell us we didn't warn you! Autumn is on the horizon, and cooler temps are rolling into Boston with an influx of students. Each year, Move In weekend brings thousands of box trucks helmed by wide-eyed drivers unfamiliar with the nuances of our iconic road system, especially Storrow Drive. This main thoroughfare is dotted with low-clearance bridges that cause serious "Storrowed" level roof damage to those unaware. For Fall 2022, we brewed a new pale ale as our pre-emptive PSA to always read the signs: Trucks & Buses Must Exit Left!

Trucks & Buses Must Exit Left Pale Ale presents a deeply hazy, warm yellow straw hue. Leading with a dank nose of fresh pineapple and a melange of stone fruit, the palate follows with intensely juicy flavors of overripe mango, canned pear, and grapefruit peel. A kiss of sweetness is balanced by a gentle and resinous bitterness to round out this smooth & deliciously drinkable Pale Ale.

STYLE: Pale Ale

Pours hazy pear into a nonic. White head quickly recedes to nothing. Dusty pineapple, papaya and lychee aromas. Medium bodied and dry with melon and pineapple front to back. Abrupt lychee finish.

Canton draught, 9/16/22. Heavily hazy/turbid brass-lemon-golden. Small, fleeting, white head. I appreciate that Trillium constantly experiments and doesn't just produce a steady stream of cookie cutter NE style pale ales, but since I'm usually only trying their new beers, I don't get a lot of classic NE style stuff from them, especially lately, where much of their new stuff is experimental/hybrid or even West Coast. Anyways, this was a real blast from the past and reminds greatly of something like Pocket Pigeon or even a lighter Fort Point Pale. Just pure, juicy goodness with heavy fruit, cracker and light honey-like malts and no flaw/alcohol/resin or any gross (aka Mosaic) hop notes. Soft, juicy, clean, well-attenuated, malty and low on the bitterness, yet amply balanced. Cracker malts with a hint of honey-like character. No resin, lots of citrus juice. Excellent body and flavor intensity for its size. A real treat.
