Review based on the BJCP2021 guidelines (style 33B: rum and bourbon barrels / 30A: coconut, cocoa / Base: 20C). Can 33 cl - Batch BA1Z0SZ3 (BB: 05.2028) AROMA: medium-high boozy aroma (rum-like) with low background notes of cocoa and slight vanillin and wet wood. very faint roastiness. APPEARANCE: dark brown color and opaque. low brown head with low retention. leg formation. TASTE: medium-high boozy hot flavor (rum, slight bourbon), with slight notes of wood. faint cocoa and roastiness in the background. initially somewhat sweet, the medium bitterness balances it into a semy-dry and slightly roasty finish. MOUTHFEEL: medium-high to high body. medium-low carbonation. alcoholic warmth present. OVERALL: an imperial stout overwhelmed by a strong spirits presence that overpowers the other ingredients.
