As its name would suggest, Idaho 7 hails from Idaho in the USA. A land famed for its barley, cattle and potato output with hoppy bangers being added to that list – we feel Ireland and Idaho have a few things in common.
This one’s on Maris, Wheat, Oat and a touch of Carapils and fermented on London Ale III for that extra soft body. We’ve dry hopped this exclusively with Idaho 7 in two stages building to a total of 20gL and it really shows.
Body is light, airy and almost feathery. Nose is mango, guava, grape candy, light pleasant woody spice, body is bursting with fresh orange juice and rind, more candy grape with a hint of passionfruit and a smooth low bitterness to finish. All fecund in its juiciness.

Can from Gedeelde Vreugde.
A: hazy ochre, small, foamy, white head.
A: spring onion, chives, chalk, unripe apricot, cheese, vague chlorine, wet white pepper.
T: sweetish grape & apricot, dough, chalk, bitter herbs & pine.
F: grassy & piney hops, bit dank hasish & chives.
P: medium body, fluffy texture, soft carbonation.
Interesting herbal profile, but lacks some hoppy fruitiness.

Can at home shared with Laura. Murky pale yellow color, basically punica, off-white head. Smell and taste are lightly malts, sweetish fruity hoppy notes. Quite okay.

Draught@TCBW2023. Hazy golden colour with a small white foamy head. Aroma is floral, fruity, nectary and some citrus with mild oaty and wooden tones. Flavour is citrus, some pine, mild sweet oaty and malty tones with some herbs and a bit pineapple. Also somewhat of a hopburn to it.

Can at home, from an online peddler, 05/09/23. Moderately hazed orange golden with a good sized lasting just off white cap. Nose is orange zest, grass, pine needle, papaya, mandarin, light floral whisper. Taste comprises orange zest, pineapple, grass, soft malts, papaya, mandarin. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spliced with balanced light juicy hop bitterness. Tidy enough IPA if not from Whiplash's top drawer.

Can from Cork & Cask. Hazy golden body with an off-white head. Low carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of mandarin and lemon sponge. Flavour of grapefruit and orange. Medium body with a smooth mouthfeel. Soft fizz. This is really good; Idaho 7’s sweet, juicy quality shines through. It’s clearer than most other Whiplash IPAs I’ve tasted.
