Cask. Malty, syrupy aroma. Thin and a bit watery. Firm licorice flavor. Some toasty bitterness. Hardly any lacing. Deep ruby brown color. Traces of a head. Hardly any sweetness. Well made mild.

On cask at Edinburgh Arms, Crosby - Clear chestnut brown with a lacing bubbly off-white head. Malt, toffee and a bit of fruit on the nose. Rather bland in the taste, a bit of fruit gets through, but overall a bit shallow. Smooth enough mouthfeel, but not enough to make it really good.

Fairly smooth but equally bland mild ale, dark but served cold so also relatively crisp.

Cask at the Wenlock Arms on 16/8/09. Very dark brown-black with off white diminishing head. Main flavour is caramel/roasted malt and a few creamy lactic notes. Soft carbonation and a flattish texture, smooth drinking
