Our Reflection series continues, and with this beer, we gaze into the rippling waters of one of our/the industry's biggest influences. That beer is, of course, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. One of the first American beers to be widely available in the UK market, and one that started the journey for huge swathes of breweries in the UK & US (including us). It’s a beer that’s never faded and that we continue to enjoy.

Can at home, from HOTM online, 27/08/23. Clear amber pour with a good sized lasting just off white head. Nose is orange zest, grapefruit, grass, pine needle, crisp malts. Taste comprises bitter orange, grass, pine needle, grass, melon, grapefruit, toasted malts, light minerality. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with grassy hop bitterness. Decent crisp, clean and slightly old skool leaning Pale.

440ml can. Crystal clear amber colour with a beige head. Aroma of citrus and pine, biscuity malts. Taste is initially very hoppy and bitter, grapefruit, pine, biscuity and caramel malts, strong bitter finish. Cracking APA. Definitely get the Sierra Nevada vibe, this is a great interpretation.
