A crisp, dry lager made using smoked malts and then barrel aged in Islay whisky barrels to combine the best of Scottish and German brewing traditions.
We left this beer in barrels just long enough to add a signature hint of Islay without overwhelming the delicate base. Caol Ila barrels add to delicious smoky malt flavours, with hints of citrus, and delicate salt notes.

Released January 2022.

On tap at Brewdog Seven Dials, pours a cloudy dark bronze with a small beige head. Aroma brings out plenty of smoke, light ash, and hay. Flavour brings out moderate smoke, light ash, and biscuity malt. A little too heavy and earthy in the body but it's built well. Good.

Keg at Craftsman. It pours golden - orange with a small fizzy white head. The aroma is pretty rich, big puff of smoke upfront, medicinal, TCP, supported by something really fruity, apricot, peach, persimmon, brioche, floury bread and some greenness. The taste is crisp, dry, bitter, smokey, medicinal, pithy, zesty, orange marmalade sandwiches on white bread, smoked peach, touch umami, spice, hay, straw, grass, TCP, peat real and some tannin with a drying finish. Average body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Otherworld proving they don't fit in the standard new brewery mold. Interesting, good depth and somehow very drinkable.

Can from Appellation Wines. Pours clear golden with a thin white head. Aromas of peaty whisky, heavy smoke and iodine. Taste is similar. Hard to spot the lager underneath the barrel influence. Faint seaweed note. Dry smoky finish. A bit challenging.

Can from Cork & Cask. Clear deep golden body with a thin white head that fades. Low carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of smoked ham and a hint of whisky. Flavour of berries and smoked cheese. Thin body with a watery texture. Soft fizz. An interesting, unique lager.
