Sampled draft @ A la Mort Subite. Hazy orange, creamy white head. Nose is extreme baby food peach, massively sweet, cheap peach yoghurt & candy, man so sweet. Taste is starch, yeast, baby food peach, nastily sweet, so chemical & white sugar sweet with cheap peach yoghurt. Body is starch & yeast. At first you think okay but the sweetness really builds & becomes rather nasty.

Inspired by Lindemans’ example, the other lambic producers which had chosen the path of sweetening and compromise also started making pêche - heavily sweetened peach lambic. This one has peach juice, peach aromas and some spice. Dense, moussy, stable, yellowish head, colour ambery orange blonde, clear. Artificial sourish sweetness, a lot of peach of course, also orange marmelade and apricots in syrup, as well as a vague hint of hay-like lambic. Very sweet and sugary taste, ascorbic acid resulting in a lemonade-like effect, the added spices are very shy and hidden and lambic is fairly hard to even notice. Way too sweet and one-dimensional for my taste. I guess this is okay for the style, though, since all pêches are like this - I just don’t like the style.

Draught at A La Mort Subite. It pours clear golden-orange with a small white head. The nose is sweet, fruit syrup, peach/apricot and sugar. The taste is peach ice tea, sugar, dull tang, fruit syrup, cloying sweetness and candy. Light body, fine carbonation and sticky mouth-feel. A challenge to finish. Sweet, sticky and one-dimensional.
