Our take on a Cask Best Bitter. Amber hues and malt flavours abound. Bread crust, light toffee and drying biscuity finish are the order of the day, balanced by the delectable traditional hop pairing of UK grown Fuggle and Golding hops.

Cask at Ebenezers, Crewe. Pours a dark copper with a small foamy off-white head. The aroma has malts, traditional hops and some traces of nuts. In the mouth it starts off fruity and slightly sweet with malts to the fore. However bitterness quickly seems in, though it doesn’t dominate. Taste has floral hops, tropical fruits and oranges plus some hints of corn. Fruitiness is the mainstay of the finish, though it is also dry and slightly bitter. This is rather nice – plenty of punch for its strength.

Cask at Deya’s taproom. Clear amber, off white head. Aroma of bready biscuity malts. Taste of biscuity malts, bready, mild hops, slightly sweet toffee taste leading to an assertive bitter finish. Solid cask bitter from Verdant, a surprise tbh.
