We wanted to make something special to mark this milestone. Friends of the brewery Claire and Shaun love bees and their bees love pollenating flowers and producing honey. Some of their honey went into this beer to help add to the delicious roasted notes of the stout.

Tap at Elusive with Dad, 5th August 23. Pours thin and black. Aroma is chocolate, sweet honey. Taste is sweet, chocolate and honey, mouth feel is disappointingly thin. Too sweet and thin for my taste

Can ordered from the brewery. Aroma has a big dose of mocha. It's roasty. Powdery. A sweet honey streak throughout. Dark. Glossy. Creamy beige head. The honey is up front. Sweet. Well, yeah. The mocha in the aroma is present but overpowered by the generous honey. After a 20 minute gap due to the boy waking up (the wife's out and he wakes up at 8:50 for FFS), the bitterness is less muted - mocha comes through. Medium-heavy bodied. Oily. Long finish with astringent hints. Damn good. If the sweetness beer I've had for yonks (5-second memory allowing).

440ml can. Pours pitch black with a thin beige head. Aroma of dark malts, dark fruits, chocolate, roast, honey. Taste of sweet dark malts, chocolate, dark fruits, lots of honey - the delicious roasted notes seem to be cancelled out by it, warming finish. Medium-full bodied, smooth.
