Sample (thanks omhper!). Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is liquorice, black chocolate, some toffee, mild alcohol and some plummy tones. Flavour is plum, alcohol, liquorice, toffee and some mild spiciness to it. Amaretto aftertaste.

Bottle at home. Pours black, nose is chocolate, burnt caramel, toffee, meaty, some dark fruit, taste is sweet toffee, meaty, bitter, salty, roasted.

--Bottled, from Die Bierothek. -- Black, mid sized beige head. Peppery ashy nose with some coffee. Mildly sweet with near full body and dense rounded mouthfeel. Peppery with tobacco, coffee and chocolate, mild honeyish whiskey. Warming bitter finish. Elegant and rich.

500ml bottle bought as part of a delivery from KWM Wines, Kilkeel. Dark brown, almost black with a ring of tan head. Light chocolatey aroma, some whisky and a little touch of liquorice. Sweet taste with a sourish whiskey kickback. More chocolate and salted caramel notes. Smooth yet boozy finish. Thick body, low carbonation. Understated but intensely nice.

Pours thick, brownish black. Small bit of tan head. Smell is roasty, some sweet chocolate, very subtle whiskey. Very nice body, smooth and thick, yet with a nice roasty bite to it. Taste is roast in front, chocolate, dried fruits, lovely whiskey.

Bottle from Brother Beer. Vintage 2019. Black with a lasting dark brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, wood and whisky. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and roasted moderate bitter finish with warming alcohol. Oily. Nice and clean impy without all the additives. 130721
