The beer was brewed in Portobello, Edinburgh, using a mixed fermentation base sour and barrel-aged in Bruichladdich casks for nine months to infuse it with the iconic character of Bruichladdich’s unpeated Islay single malt. The depth of flavour from the casks provides delicate notes of sweet oak and barley, while the addition of hand-picked lemon balm foraged locally from Islay and Scottish heather honey create a perfect balance of tart acidity and smoky-sweetness.

Bottle at RJs. Tetszik a koncepció, a kivitelezés kissé furkó lett. A citrusosság egyhangú a citromtól, lehetett volna picit extrább, a peat nyilván király, dehát az mindig az. A sav is kőegyszerű, a méz édessége pedig furcsán keveredik a savval és a hordóval, valahogy nehéz lesz tőle a sör, ráadásul oxidációra emlékeztet... de mindezzel együtt is tetszett amúgy, szóval np

Bottle 375ml @ Sommerhuset Pours hazy golden with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, floral honey, tartness. Taste is medium sweet and light sour with a long honey, lemon and tart finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft

Tavour: pours orange with a small white head. Aroma is slightly smoky, honey, light funk. Taste is a mix of scotch smoke and honey. Interesting. Peaty sort of aftertaste. Way more enjoyable than I expected.

Bottle, gift from Mum. Hazy bronze body with a thick off-white head. Low carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of raspberry syrup, medicine box, boozy peach and honey. Flavour of bitter lemon, vinegar and a hint of whisky. Medium body with a drying, slightly chewy mouthfeel. Light fizz. It hides the ABV quite well but the flavour is way too tart and dry for me; I could barely finish a quarter of the bottle.

37,5cl bottle from Kaffee Bazaar webshop. F: medium, egg-white, good retention. C: deep gold, hazy. A: malty, lemon, herbal, peat touch, honey, dried fruits. T: full malty base, honey, peat touch, lemon, dried fruits, spicy, woody, decent bitterness, bit puckering, soft carbonation, quite controversial beer you like it or hate it, for me delicious, enjoyed for sure.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Yoav's place. Cloudy golden. Lots of honey, a bit of whiskey, some wood, lemon, sour-sweet, alcohol.

On keg at the Wee Vault. Appearance - murky yellow to brown. Nose - complex sweet toffee but tart at the same time. Sourdough, booze and smoky toffee. Taste - whisky and bready with heather honey. Palate - medium bodied, sweet and tart at the same time. Overall - it certainly has a lot going on.
