Amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is caramel, toffee, wood and some biscuity tones. Flavour is toffee, toast, caramel and mild wooden tones. True to the style, and really wellbrewed. Wow!

16 oz. can. Pours a clear, dark, amber color, with a big, foamy, tan head. The nose is black bread, caraway, juniper berries, and brown sugar. Not too sweet, with a mellow, earthy and resinous bitterness. Medium body, sticky, and grainy. Quality, balanced, and interesting.

Happy Hour US pint in Finney's, Laguna Beach on 13th July 2023. Looked, smelled and tasted like an Altbier, so all good in my eye's. A little stronger alcohol wise but I liked it's flavour and attitude.

On tap at the Moorpark tasting room Deep clear mahogany pour. Thin light tan head. Toasted malts and a slight astringency sharp woody flavor. A bit more hefty then their other offerings.

Tasty little altbier, malty and rich without being saccharine, offering up deep layers of caramel, toasted bread, grain, and dried fruit, backed up by a hint of yeast and a spicy/floral bitterness on the fade. Lovely pint.

Pour is a dark brown with some red highlights and a large tan head. Aroma is molasses, treacle and a little nuttiness. Flavor is whole wheat bread with some almonds and finishes rather dry. Heavy on the malt and kind of all over the place. Decent but one of those styles that I don't get a lot of so I don't have much to compare it to.

Can from BottleCraft on India Ave. Pours medium amber copper with a white head. Malty aroma with a hop note. Approaching med body. Flavor is malty with hop that might be Saaz. Malty, but relatively dry. Not very bitter. Overall flavor is quite good.

Bottle. California brewery #196. Pours hazy rich hazel, medium tan head that dissipates fairly quickly leaving decent lacing. Aroma is malty, roast, a bit nutty, dark breads and toffee. Flavor is medium sweet, very light bitter, quite malty and pleasant. I must be in a malty mood today, cause this hits the spot. Medium body, minimal acidity.

Sample at Tony’s Darts Away. Brownish-amber color with a thin light beige head that recedes quickly to a wispy film. Spotty lacing. Roasted malt, hops and fruit in the nose. Medium body with flavors of roast malt, caramel and earthy hops. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Above average overall.
