Smooth, dark and delectably indulgent… Introducing Nightjar. With its roasted coffee notes and dry, bitter finish, this smooth and creamy British Stout is something to behold.

Dark brown with a thick, initially unpleasant-looking creamy head. A delicate aroma, slightly burnt toast, with notes of licorice, cocoa, and coffee. The body is light to medium, becoming flat after foaming, with an interesting earthy, herbal bitterness. The initial impressions are positive, with roasted notes, coffee, chocolate, and a slight acidity, followed by a sudden emptiness, a lighter body, and only the finish is brimming with flavor.

Keg at Sanzibar, Sedgley. Darkest brown ans glossy. Thick foamy white head with decent lacing. Aroma has creamy coffee with a sour streak. Flavourwise it's surprising sour - tart - sour spur coffee (plus bitternes). Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. OK. Not at it's best? And also more of a Mild?
