Pint can from Total Wine Roseville, 5/2/21. Hazy orange, large frothy off-white head, good retention. Aroma of pineapple, tropical fruit, grapefruit, mild dank, pale malt. Taste is dank, grapefruit, pine, grainy malt. Moderately juicy, low to moderate bitterness. Nice.

Golden colour with lasting head. Aroma and flavour have loads of caramalt. Hop profile is floral and resinous.

Sampled at Zeezicht, Breda. [As Alesmith Off Season IPA 6.0%] Clear golden color, medium sized white head. Aroma is malts, hops, firm malt and hop bitterness, if not to say heavy, pine and spruce hoppiness very pronounced as well. Well, you gotta love your beers bitter or else you're gonna leave this alone after coming within 2 feet. I like it. Gone in seconds.

12oz can pours with a murky dirty copper colored body that supports a nice light tan head of foam. The modest aroma offers up pine hops and grapefruit. The taste delivers bitter pine and grapefruit hoppiness as well as some floral notes and citrus juiciness. To midway it picks up a thin earthy tea sensation. Pretty nice but fresh regular. 394 seems better.

Pineapple, orange, and pine needle nose. Cloud orange, full of sediment from fine to chunks, medium head, good retention. Orange, caramel, clay. Full body, easy carbonation. A bit disappointing.

Variation on the renowned AleSmith IPA, from tap at Bar Beenhouwer. Egg-white, frothy, papery lacing, closed and stable head, lightly hazy pale orangey apricot blonde robe. Aroma of grapefruit peel, crushed peanuts, orange zest, dry biscuit, wormwood leaves, old rusk, paprika powder. Cleanly fruity onset, apricot, hint of mango but restrainedly so, sharp and minerally carbonation, quite fizzy but acceptable for the style as this is clearly more intended as an old school West Coast IPA than a New England IPA; biscuity and cracker-like, very lightly nutty maltiness, lightly toasty, dryish with long citrusy and lightly oniony hoppy ending, paprika and grapefruit aspects, zesty, orange peel with a tonic water-like, lingering bitterness. I am always glad when I encounter an old-fashioned West Coast IPA and there was little chance that this classic Californian brewery would let me down on that...

I’m assuming this beer is the same as the can of Hazy .394 I’m drinking; if not, oh well. Juicy, hazed version of .394, with big pineapple, grapefruit, and mandarin, with a caramel malt undertone and very low bitterness. Not bad, but loses some of the old-school San Diego charm of the original.

Tap at man in the moon. Pours golden. Aroma and flavor are sweet, fruity, some bitterness, watery, lactose. Overall: Alesmith is one of my favorite breweries, but this is really weak by their standards
