10 November 2023. At Billie's Craft Beer Fest. Thanks to tderoeck for sharing today's beers - cheers to so many more!
Dark brown, stable head. Caramel, dried banana, red apple, raisin, clove. Sweetish raisin, bitter spices & herbs, caramel malt base. Herbal hops, very spicy, oddly bitter. Syrupy texture. Not bad but lacks some structure and, well, sourness.

Svart. Høyt luftig lysebrunt skum som daler sakte. Litt lacing. Lett syrlig aroma. Trevirke. Vin. Silkemyk munnfølelse. Smaken tørket frukt. Eik. Sjokolade. Mye. Tørr, behagelig bitter avslutning. Utmerket juleøl. Til kosen foran peisen.

Bottle @ home. Close to black body under a nice, dense beige head. Aroma has dark malt, licorices and acidic coffee. Taste is sweet and sour with dark malt, acidic berries and hint of chocolate. Moderate bitterness. Medium body with a dry finish. Unusually but worked actually nice with my dish with fish and root vegetables.

500ml bottle, batch nr. 2632(?), bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Stable tan head over a deep ruby-black body, spotty lacing. Inviting aromas of chocolate malts and berry skins, nicely roasted. Interesting and likeable taste of chocolate, toffee, and berries with a little tartness to it. Woody. Softly roasted dark malts and dark berries to the ending. Well bodied. Something else, innovative brew. Like it. (Tromsø, 27.12.2023).

Bottle. A more or less black one, topped by a dense, finger-thick tan head. Some curtains left. The aroma has a very light sourness, along with roasted, slightly burnt, malts, licorice, some coffee and a touch of dark chocolate. Notes of something herbal and dark bread crust. Alcohol too, but that just compliments the rest of the aromas. It's full-bodied and very lightly warming. Smooth, with a gentle bitterness and not too much sweetness. The flavor is pretty much like the aroma, though with more focus on dark chocolate. Lasting, quite harsh licorice-ish, burnt finish with a pleasant sour touch and gentle warmth. The finish was a bit too intense, else I really enjoyed this one, especially after it warmed a bit. Sure not your average bock. 231225
