This long-eared owl is our core range Imperial/double stout. This stout is standard French oak aged. This is a rich and massive full bodied monster with notes of chocolate, ground coffee, anise and vanilla. It even has some smoky and peaty flavours to it and obviously very hoppy as we love it. Get warmed up by this uber complexed- Owl in a bottle. The beer is unfiltered and unpasteurized, and could definitely be stored away even longer to mature some more.

Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate, peat, oak, vanilla, rubber, some smoke. Flavour is roasty, chocolate, some sweetness, with a long chocolate finish. Good, but not a great Imperial Stout.

(Bottle) Black colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of liquorice, black rye bread, coffee, cacao, vanilla and hints of smoke. Malty, roasted taste with black coffee, liquorice, wood, peat smoke, dark chocolate, brandy and a vinous finish with a generous coffee bitterness. Full body, with a slight sweetness. Tasty and powerful with balanced notes of smoke and wood. Very nice.

Bottle. Deep dark brown color. almost opague. Cream, chocolate, caramel and a hint of licorice in the aroma. Full bodied. Sweet, roasty, creamy flavor with coffee, caramel and a hint of licorice. Fairly well balanced, yet alcoholic. Tasty imperial stout, with a hint of pipe Tobacco in the aftertaste.

330ml bottle. Jet black colour with late awakening, small, creamy, diminishing, slightly lacing, beige to tan head. Chocolately, dark and slightly caramel malty aroma, oaky and minimaly peaty overtones, a spicy yeasty touch of marmite. Taste is sweet-ish, caramel and roasty, chocolately dark malty, slightly spicy, hints of soy sauce, marmite, a touch of liquorice, lovage, minimally dry, oaky overtones; well hidden alcohol. Slightly oily texture, super-soft, smooth and silky palate.

From bottle. Pours a beautiful dark brown with practically no (cappuccino) foam. Aroma is rich, with licorice and dark chocolate, maybe a little coffee. Body is surprisingly light for a beer of 10.5°. Taste is a wonderful mix of sweet and bitter. You can’t feel the 80 IBU, as sweetness is slightly superior in intensity. Texture is sticky and the finish is long and some slight astringency. In summary, a great beer!
