Vanishing Point 07 heralds a Double Cask maturation for the first time. First spending 9 months in The Glenlivet 18YO casks before being finished for 3 months in Port Casks. This years' release is rich and complex yet with a warming mellowness. With a malty-mocha and caramel backbone, accented with hints of berry and nut.

Bottle: Poured a dark black color stout with a dark brown foamy head with some light retention and some minor lacing notes. Aroma of chocolate notes with light dry bitter notes with some light scotch and port notes. Taste is also a mix of chocolate malt notes with some light dry bitter notes with some light barrel=aged notes of scotch and port with a semi-dry finale. Body is a bit thin for style with good carbonation with no clear discernible alcohol notes. Not bad but barrel-aged notes could have been more pronounced.

Bottle at home. Pours black, nose is chocolate, toffee, vanilla, raisin, red wine, taste is chocolate,light smoke, berries, quite fruity and sweet.

Süffiger, wenn auch relativ trockener Malzbeginn, süßlich aber ohne großartigen Körper. Leicht nussig, geringe Herbe, die Süße ist mir etwas zu stark, es fehlt ein Gegenpol. Mittellanger Abgang - ok. 9/8/8/8/11/8

500 ml bottle. Pours a dark brown with fizzy head that settles quickly. Aromas of chocolate nougat, soft whiskey, cola, and roasted malts. Flavors of watery whiskey, nutty chocolate, and roasted malts. Thinner than expected. Hot finish.
