Aged in whisky casks from the Isle of Islay off the Scottish coast, the latest of the Paradox Series provides a hugely complex, full bodied BA Imperial Stout.
This powerful stout delivers hints of floral, alongside intense, smoky and peated notes of single malt. Giving a lasting rich, malty, espresso and dark chocolate character, balanced by the spicy hops of Saaz. This is a stout that warms the senses.

Clear dark brown beer, small creamy beige head, stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: lots and lots of peat, smoky, super peated, nice roast. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very peated, lots of chocolate, coffee, nice roast, more coffee. Aftertaste: lots and lots of peated whisky, pretty bitter, roasted, bit sweet, soft chemical touch, nice one!

Tap. Dark brown almost black color, close to coffee foam. Aroma: smoked Islay whisky, iodine, peat, a lot of esters, sweet, caramel, burnt barley. Taste is powerful, burnt, volcanic ash and burnt prunes, iodine, Islay whisky, very warming, sharp.

330ml bottle shared @ 100 pív in Bratislava (28.6.) with Cuso, many thanks. F: medium, tanned, not long lasting. C: deep dark, opaque. A: chocolate, peat, dark caramel, spicy, coffee, toffee, complex. T: rich dark malty, chocolate, peat, cocoa, pralines, bit vinous, warming alcohol not disturbing, very nice balanced, fully enjoyed.

Shared 330ml bottle. Only black with a thin tan head. Smoky aroma, flavour is bitter but smooth, coffee and dark chocolate with a leathery finish. Lovely thick texture

Bottle, 100 piv. Dark brown color with small beige head. Aroma of dark malt, coffee, nougat, nuts, dark chocolate, peat. Taste, dark malt, coffee, nougat, licorice, nuts, dark chocolate, peat. Alcohol is evident, but not in bad way. Delicious.

24/05/2019 - taster @Brewdog Brussels. Black colour, thin dark lacing. Nose is sweet and boozy, lots of peat. Taste is roasted, sweet, whisky, peat, way too much.

ABV: 14.0%. Clear dark black colour with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, beige to light brown head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, peat, molasses, chocolate, wood, oak, smoke. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, roasted, chocolate, peat, wood, smoke, whisky. Body is medium to full, texture is oily - creamy and sticky, carbonation is soft, finish feel is warming and light alcoholic. [20200201]
