Black beer, good beige head. Dominant pasty, smoky aroma. Taste is very heavily Islay as well. Whisky, smoke, chocolate, bitter malt, a little caramel, some fruit and a lasting peaty finish. Big, rich and distinctive.

2019 version at 14%. Keg at BD Castlegate. It pours opauqe black with a decent tan head. The aroma is rich smoked action, peat reek, rocky road, dark chocolate, coffee, toasted marshmallow, cherry and knickerbocker glory. The taste is slick, oily, chewy, toothy, boozy kick, bitter, rich roasted malt, smoked malt, rich roasted malt, rocky road, islay whisky, cherry, cranberry, slick, punchy alcohol, spicy, dark chocolate, syrupy, varnish. And coffee grounds with a drying finish. Full body, fine carbonation and oily mouth feel. Boozy and charred A bit harsh tbh and not up to the dizzy heights of the last version. Fun nonetheless.

Keg at Brewdog Brixton. A dark black brown coloured pour with a lasting mid tan head. Aroma is salty, sweaty roast, salt, smoked malt, peat,. Flavour is composed of big bitter roast, Salted roast, boozy fruit cake, islay whisky cask, woody tannin. Palate is velvety, rounded, oily,. Strong booze in the finish.
