medium amber color. Cherries and apricot crumble. Slightly sweet but body is lacking.
Quite sweet and yeasty. Maybe I would prefer a filtered version for this. Apples and caramel.

I Baeren Unfiltered Festbier This was part of the 2023 limited three month set which I generally enjoy. It was part of the September shipment and is a matte amber orange with beige foam. Malty caramel with orange mar and biscuit notes. Medium bodied with a crisp finish after a pretty rich malty sweet start. The taste is tobacco leaf, biscuity caramel, black pepper and a herbal hop bite. Probably the crispest as well as richest of the Oktoberfest beers I’ve had this Fall.

Bottle, mail order from the brewery. Glowing orange-brown with a tall, fluffy head. Looks nicer than the filtered version. Nutty malt nose, toast, caramel, cocoa, orange notes, light doughy notes. Doughy, malty, caramel, hazelnuts, cocoa. Rich malt, though not very sweet. A bit too caramel forward for me to love. Grassy, medium bitter hop finish. Richer and fresher tasting than the filtered version. --- Beer merged from original tick of 2021
