Belgian Quad: AleSmith Quad is only released every few years, and this version is our rarest one yet. Dark amber in color, rich malt flavors of dark fruit and caramel combine with a fruity fermentation and sweet, spiced finish. We aged this version for seven years in California red wine barrels where it developed like a fine wine. The extended residence time added layers of spice, vanilla, and vinous red fruits to an already world-class beer.

0.75l bottle thanks to Lore. Jet black body with a thin beige head. Bold chocolate, coconut and sour cherry notes in the aroma and a touch of oak, dark sugar syrup and bourbon. The taste is super complex, even more than the aroma. It shows notes of chocolate, cinnamon, vanilla, dark sugar, coconut, sour cherry, cloves, bourbon and oak. Full bodied with a silky texture. Bold, strong, complex. Amazing beer.

On tap at AleSmith, pours a murky dark mahogany brown with a small white head. Aroma is full of red wine barrels, some tannins, dark dried fruits, and some brown sugar. Flavour is a red wine bomb, with intense red wine tannins, dark dried fruits, gentle sugars, plenty of booze, and a little balsamic. That's some serious red wine character from the time in barrels. Very tasty.
