The origins of Rocky Road are unclear, but it’s universally agreed to be a gorgeous treat, combining every child’s favourite ingredients! This felt like a perfect match for our Pardus series of Imperial Stouts, so we worked on how to combine them. The end result is everything we hoped for – this beer is luxurious with a silky, marshmallowy body that caresses the palate with a combination of rich chocolate, biscuity malt and raisin notes

Can thanks to cgarvieuk. Appearance - deep brown to black with an orange chink at the bottom. Nose - candy floss, jam and marshmallow. Chewy toffee and sweet chocolate. Taste - sweet red jam and marshmallow. Chewy burnt toffee. Palate - medium bodied, chewy middle, tangy and roasty on the finish. Overall - so I'm getting loads of the rocky road but not so much of the chocolate part.

440ml can from Thornbridge Beer Club - Clear near black body with a reddish hue, tan head. Nose is milky sweet chocolate, some berry in there too. Taste is cloyingly sweet at the start, like someone has stuffed a marshmallow in your face mid-drink, and eases into a bitter roasty mocha-like finish. Very drinkable.

Can. Thornbridge subscription box. Definitely not one I’d buy on it’s own lately. In fact I think I skipped the whole of this series of beers. Anyhoo. Pours clear cola brown. Sits almost black in the glass. Very decent beige foam is lasting and semi lacing. Nose has raspberry milkshake. Fruity dark chocolate. Some ripe vine fruit. Taste is super sweet first up, with a decent level of dark chocolate, slightly earthy bitterness. Plenty of body but stays easy drinking enough. Finish is vinous and bitter.
