Cask at Brunswick, Derby. Unfortunately this was served far too cold, with no aroma or flavour at all at the start. However, I did manage to get the following when it warmed up. Pours a dark reddish-brown with minimal cream head and good lacing. Aroma has dried fruit and malts. In the mouth it is a littler watery, Flavour has malts, raspberries, plums, treacle and liquorice. It’s OK once warmed up – hides its strength well too. Rerate required.

Gravity cask at Pigs Ear 2022 - day 4. Pours clear deep brown with a foamy, khaki head. Light-medium sweet flavour with balanced dark malts, a little cocoa, faint ripe berries. Medium bodied with fine carbonation; great condition. Nicely balanced finish, lightly bitter cocoa, modest roast, dark fruits. Excellent.

Can. Thornbridge subscription box. Clear dark chestnut brown. Nicely soppy sticky beige foam. Slightly earthy nutty malts. Floral leafy hop. Dry and vinous. Decent body. Earthy fruity nutty finish. Possibly one I’d prefer on cask. Tasty though.

440ml can from Thornbridge Beer Club - Deep reddy brown body, rocky white top. Malt forward nose, quite a lot of caramel. Unlike a lot of milds, lots of flavour, big and fruity. This needs to be a regular, great winter beer.

Creamy off white head on a reddish brown coloured body. Malt, tea & fruity aroma. Medium bodied, smooth with a light tickle on the back. Oats, berries, light smoke, malt & tea tastes with a long peppery finish. Excellent to see there's a revival in Mild which was nearly a dead style 40 years ago - although 40 years ago Mild was about 3% ABV!
