It’s all three, really. Our new collaboration with BrewDog brings together the greatness of gourmet sweets and the greatness of beer for an Eton Mess New England IPA like you’ve never tasted before.

Can from the BrewDog online shop and drunk at home. Hazy raspberry clour lasting pink head. Big raspberry aroma with some tropical fruit. Some sweetness not much bitterness. lots of fruit. more of a fruit beer than an ipa I would say. its fine. bit of a one trick pony. not sure I would buy it again. OK.

Hazy amber beer, white head. Raspberry aroma but as the name might suggest more like a sweet than fresh berries. Flavour has a whack of sugar and lactose and tastes quite artificial. It reminds me of something specific but I can't think what. But rather than being a nice fresh mix of fruit it tastes like some so-so sweeties. I don't mind it but I wouldn't go back for another.

440ml can - Pours a hazy pinkish amber colour with a small frothy pale pink head that settled. An artificial fruity aroma, mainly raspberry and fruit gums. A moderately sweet and bitter taste, artificial fruit flavours, raspberry fruit gums and a bitter herbal hop finish.

Can from Sainsbury's Supermarket, Salford. Hazy dark-amber with a head. Sweet and sugary through its ice-cream style raspberry flavouring, it has a potent nose in this respect too. The guava is lighter but evident.

Can at home picked up from Supermarche. A hazed deep red pink coloured pour with a lasting loose pink head. Aroma is super sweet gummy bears, fruitella sweets, jelly sweets, icing sugar, jammy fruits. Palate is semi sweet, little thin, chalky, powdery . Meh. Flavour is thin , powdery, aspirin, gummy bears, mineral, bitter finish. Just a bit pointless and shit.

Keg at BD Clerkenwell, 27/05/22. Light cherry red with a crimson crown. Nose is sweet pink berry fruits, gummy bears, candyfloss, raspberry jelly. Taste comprises sweet berry sherbets, bubblegum, candied fruits, sugary red berry syrup. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Not as bad as anticipated but nothing I'd care to encounter again.

Can from Sainsbury's Berryden. It pours hazy magenta with a thick, fluffy off -white head. The aroma is sweet, tangy, sugary, loads of gummy candy vibes, raspberry jelly, victoria sponge cake, guava and bubblegum. The taste is sort of dryish to begin with.... Then it gets rather sweet... raspberry gummy candy, guava, bubblegum, pink marshmallow, icing sugar, hint of light tartness from the raspberry, red apple skin, chalky, minerality, touch green and herbal, spicy.and floury bread with a dry, kind of acrid finish. Medium body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. This is a hot mess.... sweet and artificial, candy vibes but also some weird spicy notes. Pretty much like some kinda of alcopop.

440ml can from Sainsburys. Subdued pink in colour, with a moderately -sized, off-white head flecked with pink. As tommann notes, this is more of a soft drink than beer, with sweet and pleasant raspberry and tropical fruits, light maltiness and a dryish finish providing a reminder that it packs 6% ABV. Weird, but drinkable.
