330ml bottle. Minimally clouyd, chestnut colour with ruby shimmer and average, dense, frothy, moderately lasting and lacing, off-white to beige head. Toasty, chocolately, slightly nutty, dark malty aroma, hints of hazelnut, Brazil nut, praline, nougat, fruity hoppy whiffs of strawberry. Taste is slightly toasty, nutty and minimally chocolately, dark malty, minimally fruity hoppy, hints of hazelnut, praline, nougat, a touch of strawberry and yellow stone fruit, unspecific fruitiness overall. Watery texture, minimally dry palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation. Nice malty flavours, unspecific fruity hop flavours without significant influence - decent. More/new hops don't necessarily improve every style...

0.33 l bottle from 'Bierothek' (online), best before August 2024. Clear, brownish red with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, quite fruity, a bit resiny aroma of red fruits, blueberry, caramel, nuts, some citrus and hints of pine. Gently sweet, malty, moderately bitter, quite fruity and minimally resiny taste of caramel, nuts, red fruits, blueberry, some citrus and light pine, followed by a short, moderately bitter finish. Medium body, smooth and gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Exactly what the name promises, not a classic Dunkel but a very hoppy and fruity one. Quite pleasant, well-brewed for sure.

Etwas dumpfer, dann trocken bitterer Beginn, röstig-hopfig, erdig. Trocken, die Bitterkeit nimmt ab, der Hopfen dafür zu. Konstante Aromatik, langer Abgang, nett. 9/8/9/9/11/9
