Dark Horizon 8 Whisky Edition is a full-bodied Imperial Coffee Stout aged in Higland Whisky barrels. Each release in the Dark Horizon series is unique and different compared to previous releases. It takes approximately two years from brewing until a limited number of numbered bottles are launched.

Bottle at home, Espoo. Thanks mjs! Colour is very dark brown with small slightly brownish head. Aromas and flavors: Coffee, chocolate, whiskey, malts ... Very nice.

33cl bottle. Thx mjs. Poured pitch black in color. Lots of vanilla with coffee, oats, smooth, light barrel notes. Warming.

(Bottle, 0.33 l, from Alko, 20240112) The beer poured oily and black. Its head was small and lightly brown. Aroma had wood, dark chocolate, coffee and vanilla. Palate was full bodied, warming and dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, wood, dark chocolate, vanilla, sugary sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was burnt, woody and bitter. Delicious.

Svart med minimalt skum. Doft av rostad malt, lakrits och whiskey. Söt och fyllig smak av choklad, kaffe och whiskey. Alkoholen värmer i bröstet. Kom i onödigt dyr förpackning.

25 cl bottle @ home. Batch #33231: bottled 06.09.2023, BBE 15.07.2033 Aroma has licorice, sweet malt, molasses. Flavour has sharp alcohol, quite strong whisky tones, mild peat and slightly salty licorice. Warming alcohol. Sweet and boozy slow sipper.

Delt med K-O på Vervet D. Svart. Lavt lysebrunt skum som daler fort. God kaffearoma. Silkemyk munnfølelse. Smaken sjokolade & litt whisky. Tørr avslutning. Fortsatt kaffe. Alkoholen godt kamuflert - men merkes.

Bottle from Hoptimaal. Black with a small tan head. Roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, oak, some whisky, licorice and vanilla. Full body and with warming notes. Very nice.

Draught @ Erlings. Pours pitch black with a small brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, coffee, dark chocolate, little wood, mild whisky. Flavor is sweet, roast malt, caramel, coffee, wood, little vanilla, whisky, some alcohol. Medium body, average carbonation, sweet finish with some warming alcohol. Smooth and very balanced for a beer of this ABV. Great. 291123
